The Riff Raff is a writers’ community that champions the work of debut authors and supports aspiring writers via monthly events, The Riff Raff Podcast, mentoring – with a choice of over 30 author mentors, and The Riff Raff Manuscript Shakedown – a manuscript assessment service.
TALK US THROUGH THE SERVICES YOU OFFER
Riff Raff events – Each month we invite five debut authors to speak about their debut books, their journey to publication and to read from their work. It’s a chance for our audience of aspiring writers to question those who’ve been recently-published about how they did it, and for book lovers to hear more from exciting new talent.
The Riff Raff podcast – Monthly episodes featuring in-depth author interviews, delving into writing processes and journeys to publication. 75+ episodes. Past guests include: Adam Kay, Tara Westover, Kit de Waal, Gabriel Tallent and Fatima Farheen-Mirza.
The Riff Raff Mentoring Scheme – 1-2-1 mentoring with an author within your genre over three or six months. We have 30+ author mentors on our books, including Kelleigh Greenberg Jephcott (Swan Song), Imogen Hermes Gower (The Mermaid & Mrs Hancock) and Sophie Mackintosh (The Water Cure).
The Riff Raff Manuscript Shakedown – An in-depth manuscript assessment with Amy Baker, or one of 13 authors, across a variety of genres. The shakedown includes two hour long phone conversations, an in-depth report on all aspects of the manuscript and detailed track changes.
