About me:

I’ve been designing book covers since 2001. After a decade working for book publishers Hodder & Stoughton, The Orion Publishing Group and as Art Director for Canongate Books, I set up my own studio in 2010. Now our international client list includes everyone from Amazon to Indies. My work has been awarded and exhibited. I teach young creatives and lecture older ones. I’m also Associate Art Director for crowd-sourced publisher Unbound.

What you consider essential elements to effective cover design & things to avoid (50 -100 words)

Knowing the book, pushing the boundaries and balancing the practical with the creative. Never design it yourself, use a professional and trust them to make your cover beautiful.

FOUR covers you designed that best represent you

How do you work with authors?

Roughly how much do you charge per cover?

How can authors/publishers find you?
